FFXIV: ARR Entry Collection: II

Dear Readers,

Good evening.

As I have been unable to log in the game for quite a while, I have decided to share my adventure today with you all. Today has been such a adventures day, from helping out Twin Adder of Gridania's private affairs with its traitors to Scions of the Seventh Dawn bigger primals concerns, my character was getting more and more known! I really like how the npcs address me in the game. I have been sent everywhere in the world and I have never been so immersed in a MMO game in such a long time. I really like the fact that every trip from Limsa to Noscea is different, whether its a fate or random event happening.

I have finally got accepted to The Maelstrom of Limsa Lominsa, it's about time! I then also created a Free Company with my friend, and got a lot of new members, oh the joy. Next up I worked really hard to get my first chocobo in the game. You need to be at least level 20 and be part of a Grand Company plus 2000 grand company seals to obtain a whistle, once you have done all this you are set. But be warned it takes a considerable amount of time to get your first choco, so I wouldn't worry too much into rushing it as soon as you hit lv20. Finally I have grabbed quite a number of nice screenies for you all to see!

a glimpse of wildlife taking over the ancient castle

Somebody decided to splash ice..?

Maelstrom Grand Company! I'm in!

I went to visit my birth city, how I sometimes miss it.

Home to Slyphs. For those who don't know, you shall find out ;)

Its been a hard day, cant believe its evening already!

My Free Company Onion Knights now taking applications!

Very spooky atmosphere

Nice stairs?

My Chocobo, I called him 'Anima', named after an aeon in FFX that you could not obtain.

FFXIV: ARR Entry Collection: I

Dear Readers,

Good day.

I have decided to start a new series of my adventures regarding FFXIV: ARR. This will be my first full time pay 2 play MMORPG as I am absolutely in love with this game and there is no words to describe it better.

Today seeing as it was Early Access I woke up early for a McDonalds breakfast and jumped straight to the game. I started at lv20 thanks to my open beta access. After many miles of running back and fourth the story quests and i mean miles, I have finally fought against Ifrit. It was very epic as it ONE shot my entire party but we won the 2nd try.

Then after I have been doing some networking among the new friends I have met and formed my own Link Shell group. Now everyone is welcome and we enjoy the small group we have to begin with and expand as we play further along. I have also decided to create my own Free Company because it has been too long since my last rank as a Guild Leader. I have been saving up my Gil so it is only the matter to reach lv25 to create.

After being offered to join one of the 3 main Grand Companies within the game, The Maelstrom of Limsa Lominsa, The Order of The Twin Adder from Gridinia and The Immortal Flames of Ul'dah's. I travelled to each of the audiences with the leader to hear their proposal for me. After much thought I decided to go with the Maelstrom as I love pirates. Unfortunately I cannot continue due to server maintenance so this will do for now.

Until next time!

Gridania is very gorgeous

Yes Lord of the Inferno, indeed you are sir.

ahhh sh***** its Ifrit!

War Thunder Preview

Dear Reader,

Hope you are well.

I came across this game War Thunder in Steam just the other day, and I would love to share with you just how fantanstic this game is. If you are into historical recreated planes set in the World War II and want all the fancy graphics, with realistic controls and physics then this game is meant for you. It is much like World Of Tanks, for those who do not know this, WOT is a massive online shooter/action tank sim. You would normally start with 1 tank and if you get destroyed then you are out of luck as there is only 1 life per game. However if you expand your arsenal of tanks you would have multiple lives.

Now War Thunder works in the same way that you have 1 life per plane you carry to the battle. If you have 3 planes for example 2 fighters 1 bomber, then you would have 3 lives. Got it? The control of the game is quite user friendly for those who isn't accustomed to flight sims and the game does a good job with basic plane movements.

Dog fights are very intense as you decide to engage and the outcome of the fight boils down to your core mechanical skill as in yourself. If you get shot down it is yourself to blame, not because he did a cheap shot by shooting your oil tank to 1 hit you. The bullets hit detection determines the damage your aircraft will take. Different hit zones effect different attributes, say bullets to your fuel tank causes fire, bullets hits your wings then you will have holes that makes your plane alot harder to turn. As you absorb more punishment to your wings you will eventually be unable to fly at which you can fly to your home base to land and repair. Landing itself is another difficult trick to execute as more often than not you crash then land but practices make perfect.

I have played this game enough to give my first impressions, I absolutely love it and it is more of a strategic action game, do not run out and charge as you will just get shot down. Every engagement you do with the enemy is different as you cannot predict their moves. From what I have seen so far, I would definitely download this game, set the graphics as high as possible and enjoy this Historic World War II flight sim action online game.
First screen I get from the game

Amazing graphics...the sea...dam

attempting to land, looks like wake island from BF3

a very damaged Hurricane Mk I

I tried to land on a field and this happens.

Aviation fans will be happy to know there is fully functional cockpits!

FFXIV: ARR Open Beta Part 2, Limsa Lominsa

Dear Readers,

Good day.

I am pleased to announce that my trip from Limsa Lominsa has been one of the highlights in Eorzea. As such I wanted to show you a variety of scenery of this magnificent port city. I really love how these enormous castles sitting on white islands surrounded by an endless blue ocean all connected by bridges that connect to every island in the port. I could hear the seagulls chirping away in the sky as a breeze of fresh air from the sea hits my face, yup I definitely made the right choice by visiting Limsa as I think to myself. Did you also know Limsa has been known as one of the best places to Wine & Dine in Eorzea? They get fresh resources from the local fruits or the fishes, shellfishes, lobster from the deep ocean or the streams, cooked by the famous culinarian guild of Limsa, you can sure bet the food tastes amazing. Mind you this restaurant rests upon a balcony that overlooks the whole of the port, truly worth of a Michelin Star resturant I say! Even comes with candle lights!
first time arriving and its a stormy night...

the balcony restaurant..waiter please!

a walk down the harbour in the storm, better get inside..

one nice mermaid statue overlooking at one of the islands
one of the most breath taking views in a resturant in Eorzea...!
a large vessel docked in one of the many harbours

Main gates of Limsa Lominsa
this is one of the many other ports you can reach via a small ferry

walking along side the coastline
wow...speechless...really...

wonder how do I reach that mysterious castle in the distance...

So there we have it, a full day packed of different sights, I have loved it and hoped you enjoyed it as much as I have. Stay tuned for another trip to Gridania next!

FFXIV: ARR Open Beta Part 1, Ul'dah

Dear Readers,

Hope you are well.

Lets jump straight to it, I started as a Female Miqo'Te Pugilist, I have used the benchmark character creator and imported it to the open beta. As a Pugilist your starting city is Ul'dah and since closed beta I have gotten used to the city alot so it feels like my home and it is one of the gorgeous cities in any game, period. The design elements of this game is what really stands out from the rest of other MMOs out there, every pillar, corridor, open space, ceiling nooks and cranny is designed in such a complex way yet sophisticated, what I meannt by that is the way different levels of structures overlaps and underlay each other so you really have a great sense of scale and scope of the city. Enjoy the short journey.

Pictures speak louder than words so I present you Ul'dah.
Behold the majestic Ul'dah, grand city in midst of desert.

Sunset just looking at the horizon

This is a teleportation crystal that enables quick travel

Those are not stairs, those are flights of steps climbing all the way to the top...damm

The market place in the west side of the city

I found where they make jewellery!

Got to love those stars!

So this is the Ul'dah region with beautiful sunsets and stars. There is weather implanted in this game as well as a full day to night cycle, personally I have seen sand storm, storm, rain, fog but Ul'dah is mostly dry and scorching hot. I do hope you enjoyed the desert tour, because next we journey through a port city built on colossal rocks and lush forests, as well as instances, quick look at parties, dungeons and crafting/ producing.

A suprise from Square Enix

Dear Readers,

To start off something light, I present you a game I have been playing all weekend. This game is possibly one of the most immersing games I have played and lost sense of time during my time with Eorzea.

My journey started when I applied to Close Beta 2 but was rejected, I am a huge Final Fantasy Fan and playing a bit of FFXI and hearing the disappointment FFXIV 1.0 did made me skeptical about the reboot. One morning of checking emails this popped up.

I eagerly waited for the 2 days of closed beta 3 to come and was researching like a manic across sources for classes, races and starting locations, I pre planned everything before 5th July Friday and I knew I would roll as a Pugilist Miqo'Te. Having the whole weekend dedicated to test this brand new game from square enix enabled me to get up to lv16, even though I knew my character would be wiped and I would have to re make my character and that was totally fine by me.

Unfortunately NDA did not allow me to take any screen shots so I have none to show, but not to worry folks I have a full batch of pictures from my FFXIV:ARR Open Beta play through which will be a very in-depth preview as to what the upcoming game has to offer.
